The Final Antiphon of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Regina Cœli, lætare!

From Compline on the Feast of the Purification to None on Holy Saturday, inclusively.

(to be said kneeling)

1.  Hail, O Queen of Heav'n enthron'd!

2.  Hail, by angels mistress own'd!

3.  Root of Jess! Gate of morn!

4.  Whence the world's true Light was born.

5.  Glorious Virgin, joy to thee,

6.  Loveliest whom in Heaven they see:

7.  Fairest thou where all are fair!

8.  Plead with Christ our sins to spare.

V.  Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O sacred Virgin.

R.  Give me strength against thine enemies.

O.  Let us pray: Grant, O merciful God, support to our frailty; that we who commemorate the holy Mother of God, may, by the help of her intercession, arise from our iniquities.  Through the same Christ, our Lord.

R.  Amen.

V.  May the divine assistance remain always with us.

R.  Amen.

All:  Say the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Apostles Creed in silence.

The Sacrosanctae

(Or Act of Atonement After the Office)

All.  To the most holy and undivided Trinity, * to the humanity of our crucified Lord Jesus Christ, * to the fruitful purity of the most blessed and glorious Mary ever Virgin, * and to the company of all the saints, * be everlasting praise, honor, power and glory rendered by every creature; * and to us be given the remission of all our faults for all eternity.   Amen.

V.  Blessed womb of the Virgin Mary, which bore the Son of the eternal Father.

R.  And blessed breasts which nursed the Christ, our Lord.

All:  Say the Our Father and Hail Mary in silence.

To those who shall on their knees recite with devotion the above prayer, Pope Leo X granted indulgence in respect of those shortcomings and faults which they may have committed through human fraility, while saying the Office.
